Fabulous spot, great people! My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay here. Everyone is friendly and attentive, but Bernardo, the owner, was especially gracious (Luis as well). He even offered us a choice of rooms. We opted for the second floor view. All was great – bed, view, overall room comfort etc. Loved the patio as well and its an easy walk to all the sites as eell as only being a short walk from the train station. We’ll be back!
Christmas at the Hotel Nova Sintra We used the hotel as a base for visiting Lisbon. Its location, a few hundred metres from a railway terminus, making it very easy to get a train into the heart of the city. Rui the proprietor couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating and made our stay a pleasure, The room was quiet, clean and well appointed. The hotel occupies a large old house in the centre of Sintra which has been in Rui’s family for many years. Rui gave us good information about nearby attractions and the Quinta da Regaleria and the Palace of Monserrate were two of the best. Lisbon is superb. We left with some reluctance!
Just wonderful! Rui and his staff couldn’t do enough for us during our stay this summer, it really was a home from home. Great location only 5 minutes from the train station and wonderful views across the valley to the palaces. We were given lots of useful information and there were some lovely personal touches…local pastries to try, and don’t forget to ask Rui about his amazing homemade Cherry Liqueur. Our room was comfortable and everything was clean. Thank you for making our break so perfect…we will be back!
“Location, view, comfortable.” Beautiful location and view. Convenient to train station and within walking distance of good restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Warm dining room with nicely set tables. Room was comfortable. Great patio but temperature was too cool to use.
