I have stayed twice at Hotel Nova Sintra and both were pleasant and comfortable experiences. Many things are going for this place. First: the location. It is about five minutes’ walk from Sintra’s train station. (Exist right out of the station’s gate, up the slight incline, then at the top turn left and the hotel is to your left.) Second, the hotel is both clean and quiet. The manager, Rui, personally supervises the operation and spares no effort to make the guest’s stay as comfortable as possible. Likewise, the staff is genuinely friendly and caring.
Two other positive features: the hotel’s terrace has a stunning view of the Sintra’s majestic scenery. And the breakfast in the hotel’s elegant dining room is something to look forward to: buffet offering a variety of breads, fruits, cheeses, juices, and hot drinks, providing a healthy and solid meal to start a rewarding tour of Sintra, this gem of a town. My only suggestion is to provide electric kettles for those who wish to make tea in the evening in the privacy of their rooms.
For all the above positive things, the price per night is quite fair and reasonable. Needless to say, I personally shall always return to this hotel and need not to look anywhere else for my visit to Sintra every second year.
